I'm not a fan of Funko POP, I had only 3 before this one came out. The Rabbit from Pinocchio (yes another Tim Blake Nelson role) and two POP I got as a present.
I'm not a hater, to each their own, it's just not my thing. Unless it's Sam of course.
So today let's see that Funko POP!
I was gonna make another merch post today 'cause BOI I have a lot of Sam related stuff to show and I need to be more active here but I got these little guys earlier than expected. For some reasons it seems they're the only Captain America Brave New World POP out atm, might just be the place I bought them but seems like the others will be out later. I'm an agnostic but I'll take it as a gift from God to apology from having me wait forever over everything Sam because SOMEHOW everytime he's involve in something it's either canceled or pushed back. Remember the Sam one-shot in Immortal Hulk that was supposed to come out the week COVID hit and everything stop? Yeah, well, I do.
Anyway, back to these boys.
While I don't like Funko stuff, it always felt kinda insulting never having anything Sam. I mean, this boy is the Hulk's biggest antagonist, the antagonist of an OG Avengers and a MCU star and he can't even get a Funko POP? C'me oooon.
So this Funko POP is not only the very first official look at MCU Sam, the very first MCU Sam merch, it's also the very first Sam POP and it's so wild seeing the first Sam POP with "Captain America" tag on it but I'm not complaining, I explained why it makes sense here and Captain America is my fav Marvel franchise so I'd rather have him here in a serious movie that can show him as a threat rather than whatever they did with Hulk characeters after Ultron.
First of all he's green so you gotta stop with this HE'S NOT GREEN bullshit you saw on yet another annoying so called insiders and just wait and see alright.
His head is bigger than an average Funko POP!, making it squarish rather than a rectangle so he just looks normal instead of crushed like every POP haha
It's hard to say if it's Tim cosplaying Sam or Sam cosplaying Tim at this point 'cause it's just a typical Tim outfit (I'll call this POP Sim and the boxed one Tam) and I honestly don't mind. I don't give a shit about a comics version of Sam on screen, I want to discover a Sam I don't know. Though my only compain about this look is the color scheme, I wish they would at least make him orange/black rather than brown/blue but I supposed it's a callback of his "Mister Blue" name. Beside there's a scene in jail and you know how people are dressed in jail, would be incredibly fucking easy to give him, even for a moment, something very comics accurate through that orange jumpsuit.
Otherwise I really don't mind this "grounded" Sam (I have a thing for long coat anyway SO WHATEVER), he looks cool to me. I love everything Sam, I love everything Tim, I'll love everything Sim.

The box is everything you except from a Funko POP box, nothing to say about it. I know there's more Cap 4 Funko already through their membership box Collector Corp or whatever it's called nowaday.
I'm not gonna take the others obviously, only him. Though I hope they'll make a second with his long black coat and hood on 'cause look how fucking incredibly cool he looks like lol
So what to say? It's not an unusual merch, it's not that pretty either, it's just a POP and the movie isn't out yet so I can't even say if it's accurate to the character so objectively it's an ok merch, not bad, not crazy. But I don't do objectivity so I'll conclude with this to express what I think :
